FAQ

I heard that floor sanders create a huge amount of dust. Is this true?
All our machines are designed to catch the dust they make and we vacuum before and after each coating. There will always be a small amount of dust left over and in the home generally.

How long does it take to sand and coat my floors?
This will depend on the area of the floor to be sanded and coated. However, most jobs should take no more than three days. While a couple of bedrooms should take two.

How long does the smell from coating stay?
With water based floor coating system there is no smell. The smell from floor coating polyurethane products will begin to dissipate as soon as the polyurethane is dry. (Normally 8-12 hours)

How much does it cost to have my floors sanded and coated?
This will depend on the size and nature of the room. Floor sanding is often more cost effective than alternative floor coverings (e.g Lino, carpet and tiles) and is easier to maintain and clean.

Do you fill nail holes?
As part of the floor sanding process the floor nails need to be punched below the floor surface. Nail holes and butt ends and other gaps may be filled depending on the type of floor and desired finish.

Do you charge extra for removing carpet and Lino?
Yes and the price will depend how the old flooring is fixed/glued to the floor.

I have had my floors sanded already, can they be done again?
Re-sanding is often quite easy because the floor is generally flat and not much timber should need to be sanded off. However this will depend on the condition of the floor.

I would like to sand my own floors, can you provide advice for this?
